Centennial’s Gabe Howard likes the spotlight…so much so, according to Howard’s wrestling coach, Don St. James, that the senior is contemplating a career in Hollywood. Whether or not Howard makes it to the Red Carpet remains to be seen. But one thing is for certain: when the lights come on, Howard is a menace to the opposition on the mat.
“Gabe has an aggressive, no holds barred style that catches kids when they want that two-second breather,” St. James typed in an email message to the Neighbor.
Howard, a 130-pounder, had accumulated a 33-6 season record prior to last weekend’s North Metro Tournament at Brookwood. His efforts helped the Knights claim second-place at the 6AAAAA Duals, and fifth-place in the State Duals Jan. 16-17 in Macon. Additionally, Howard won his weight class in earlier season meets at Riverwood, Chattahoochee, and an individual tournament in Spencerport, N.Y.
On top of his wrestling accolades, Howard is a four-year academic scholar at Centennial, a National Technical Honor Society member, a Drama Club member, and a Fulton County swimming champion. He aspires to study sports broadcasting at the University of Georgia.
