Though Andrew Morrison has only been coaching Centennial’s varsity swim team a matter of weeks, he has come to fully appreciate the contributions in and and out of the pool from Julia Treible.
A senior captain and a University of Florida signee, Treible is putting the finishing touches on an outstanding prep career.
“They are getting someone who is very dedicated to her sport and will work as hard as she can until she is able to reach her goal,” Morrison said, in reference to Treible’s signing with the Gators. “She is a very well-rounded and grounded person.”
The defending state champion in the 100 breast stroke, Treible has once again qualified for the event at this season’s state meet. She has also posted qualifying times in the 200 freestyle, the 200 IM, and for two Centennial relay teams.
“When the pressure is on, she is always able to perform above everyone’s expectations,” added Morrison.
This weekend, Treible will compete in the 100 and 200 breast stroke – as well as the 200 IM and 200 freestyle – at the National Short Course meet in Seattle, Wash.
Out of the pool Treible is a straight-A student, and she coaches youth swimmers at the Country Club of Roswell during the summer.
